Luxe Life Holidays designs East African safari as a sequence of camps, not a list of animals. Guests typically fly into Nairobi or Kilimanjaro, then we move them by scheduled or private bush flight into a conservancy where the vehicle is yours, the guide is yours, and night drives are legal because the land is private. Migration is treated as a living front: we watch grass, rain, and crossing reports, then we place you in the Mara, the Serengeti, or both, with a second habitat — coast, highland, or rhino sanctuary — so the week is not a single ecosystem on repeat. Camps are small, canvas or villa, with conservation levies paid and explained. We do not promise a leopard on a termite mound. We promise time, silence, and a guide who will wait.
Season
July to October for Mara–Serengeti crossings; January to March for calving in the southern Serengeti; year-round in private conservancies for resident game.

Two camps, six to nine nights, optional beach coda of four nights.

Conservancy before postcard
National-park traffic at a crossing is a photograph you will take once and a morning you will not enjoy. Private conservancies in the Mara and similar models in Tanzania give you fewer vehicles, walking where it is allowed, and night drives that change the animal list. We pay the conservation fee without hiding it in a “package”. Camps are chosen for guide quality first: the person who sits with you at 5:30 a.m. is the holiday. Tents are proper beds, proper showers, and a deck that faces grass, not a generator. Family tents exist; we use them when children are old enough for dawn and for the ethic of silence. We will not put a toddler on a seven-hour game drive and call it magic.
Migration as weather
The wildebeest do not keep a brochure. River crossings cluster in a season, not on a Tuesday. We hold flexible camp nights in the right concession, watch operator reports, and move you by bush flight if the front has shifted. If you travel in a month when the herds are elsewhere, we sell you resident game, cats, and landscape — which is the better safari for many guests — and we do not dress it up as a crossing you will probably miss. Calving season in the south is a different spectacle: short grass, predators, and light. We will tell you which story you are buying before you pack khaki.
How the days are actually built
Bush flights are timed so you reach camp with an evening drive still possible; a late Nairobi arrival means a city hotel we have chosen, not a sprint to a missed Cessna. Luggage is limited by aircraft; we send a packing list that is law, not a suggestion. Between drives there is lunch, heat, and a nap — we do not fill the afternoon with optional spa menus unless you ask. A second camp is for a second habitat: riverine forest after open plains, or a highland that sleeps cold. Then, if you want salt, Zanzibar or the Kenyan coast is a different climate and should be booked as such, with a rest day on arrival so the safari does not bleed into the beach as exhaustion.
Who this journey is for
Travellers who will sit quietly in a vehicle for two hours because a hunt is unfolding. Photographers who want a private angle. Families with children who can take instruction from a guide. We are not the right desk for a guaranteed big-five shopping list, or for a lodge that faces a car park on the edge of a town.
