How the arrival is actually paced
A Maldives arrival fails when the seaplane and the villa are treated as separate bookings. We treat them as one movement. Your international flight lands in Malé; a meet-and-greet desk holds you in a lounge while luggage is tagged for the transfer, not for a carousel scrum. Seaplane windows in high season close early in the afternoon; if your long-haul lands after the last flight, we place you in a Malé water-villa or airport hotel that we have already inspected, then fly you at first light so you reach the island for breakfast, not for a missed sunset. Yacht transfers are used when the atoll is close enough that a 45-minute crossing is kinder than a floatplane, or when you want the first hour of the holiday to be champagne on deck rather than a headset and a runway. Either way, the villa team is told your arrival window to the minute so the butler is on the jetty, not in a briefing.
Water, reef, and the days between
The house reef is the reason to choose one island over another. We brief you on drop-off, current, and visibility before you pack: some reefs are a giant-stride from the ladder; others need a two-minute tender because the coral starts beyond the swim line.
